Crochet Basics

Here's the Triple Crochet (Treble): Yarn over twice, insert hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (you now have 4 loops on your hook). Yarn over, pull through 2 loops → yarn over, pull through 2 loops → yarn over, pull through the last 2 loops.

Here's the Bobble (5dc Bobble): Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 → repeat 5 times in the same stitch. You should have 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all loops.

Here's the Half Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops.

Here's the Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over, pull through 2.

Here's the Color Change: On the last stitch before changing color, stop before the final yarn over and make that last yarn over with the new color to finish the stitch, then continue working only with the new color.

Here's the Invisible Decrease: Insert the hook into the front loop of the first stitch, then into the front loop of the next stitch, Yarn Over or Under, Pull through the first two loops, Yarn Over or Under again, Pull through both loops.

Yarn Over: Insert the hook, Wrap the yarn over the hook, Pull the yarn through the stitch

Yarn Under: Insert the hook, Bring the yarn under the hook, Pull the yarn through the stitch

Here's the Chain: Yarn over, Pull the yarn through the loop Repeat these steps until you have the number of chains you need.

Here's the Increase: Make 2 single crochets in the same stitch

Here's the Decrease: Insert, Yarn Over or Under, Pull up a loop, insert into the next stitch, Yarn Over or Under again, Pull up a loop, Yarn Over or Under and pull through all 3 loops
